Twilight (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
Twilight is an action packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. Bella Swan has always been a little bit different and when her mother sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen, a boy unlike any she's ever met. Soon, Bella and Edward are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance. Like all vampires, he's immortal. But he doesn't have fangs, and he doesn't drink human blood. To Edward, Bella is that thing he has waited 90 years for: a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward and Bella do when James, Laurent and Victoria, the Cullens' mortal vampire enemies, come to town, looking for her? This is the first movie from the book series from author Stephanie Meyer. The series are currently some of the most popular books written for young adults, with sales exceeding 50 million copies worldwide since the Twilight debut in 2004 and over 7.7 million copies sold in the U.S. alone. Monsters, Vampires, Voodoo & Spooks - 33 Slabs Of Undead Rock 'N' Roll [ORIGINAL RECORDINGS REMASTERED]
The 1950s saw a huge renaissance of Horror, Monsters and Vampire movies, TV shows and comics in the United States, which coincided with the arrival of Rock & Roll. This led to the appearance of a plethora of novelty discs, often on tiny, mysterious, local record labels, some of which crossed over to become major hits. This is a fun, 33 track celebration of such recordings, ranging from the downright obscure to multi-million sellers. Includes hits like John Zacherle's ghoulish "Dinner With Drac", Sheb Wooley's high octane "Purple People Eater" and the genre's biggest ever success, Bobby (Boris) Pickett & The Crypt Kickers' perennial "Monster Mash". Plus serious collectors' items from Carl Bonafede, Kip Tyler, Jackie Morningstar, Scottie Stuart, Leroy Bowman & The Arrows, Earl Patterson With The Darts, Frank N. Stein & The Tombstones and Jimmy Dee & The Meteors. Also features such diverse and unlikely names as Screamin' Jay Hawkins, LaVern Baker, Bo Diddley, The Big Bopper, The Hollywood Flames, Bert Convy, Johnny Fuller, Bob McFadden & Dor, Screaming Lord Sutch etc. Many of the rarer sides featured herein are unavailable elsewhere on CD.
Billboard Presents: Family Scarytime Classics - Memorable Songs From Film And Television
If you know of a kid whose tastes are sophisticated enough to appreciate Peggy Lee breathily singing "Bewitched" (an instrumental version was heard on the TV theme song), the melodramatic orchestrations of The Twilight Zone theme by John Williams, or Kay Starr's swingin' version of "The Headless Horseman" from 1949, then perhaps you're on the right track here. Along with must-haves such as the themes from The Addams Family and The Munsters, kookier moments include "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" from the film of the same name, the still-eerie strains of the theme from "Dark Shadows," and Burt Bacharach and Hal David's "The Blob" from the 1958 film. Today's kid will probably relate most to the wonderful "This Is Halloween" from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, which suggests that you might be better off purchasing that disc, unless you're looking for a good dose of retrokitsch for your Halloween. --Lorry Fleming
